“Shall I hold it at my groin,” the waiter winked as this BAR FLY asked him to hold one of her plates for a photograph. That’s the kind of friendly service that gets this flirty girl all excited. Within the heated split-levels, various intimate spaces create a comfy spots to warmly settle in with friends in the coming winter months. We skipped the beers – on tap, craft brews and usual suspects – and wine selection, heading straight for the cocktails (from $16, like spiced rum Drum Beat, with jugs from $28). Head bartender Ben King poured a lot of heart into our drinks. Top pick was (still unnamed) ultimate ‘softdrink’ of blanco tequila, mint, chinotto and lime; and he mixes a smooth Whisky Sour. Even if you don’t live in the area, Cornerstone is worth a visit.
