DAMIEN SARGEANT – VAGUE CUTS

Vague Cuts is the studio-only creation of Melbourne songwriter Damien Sargeant, who, since 2008, has released a series of EPs with a little help from some fellow Melbourne musicians. The latest slab is a compilation of 32 choice cuts from the EPs. That’s a heap load of tunes but the tracks are little bite sized indie-pop gems, featuring trademark loose playing, grating guitars and Sargeant’s quirky and understated vocal delivery. This compilation is a precursor to a full-length album that should be released later this year and perhaps eventually a live show. Let’s hope so. (IS)
