LIVE WIRE – Sydney Live Music Guide March 21st

Dune: Melbourne multi-instrumentalist Dune will be launching her debut EP Oh Innocence, a five-tracker featuring exotic layers of vintage synthesisers, edgy beats and Dune’s soulful RnB vocals style – singing stories that are either personal or reflective of the human condition. She’s an exciting new artist and well worth keeping an eye on.

Thu, Mar 21st, Fbi Social

Sticky Fingers: Newtown locals Sticky Fingers have been harnessing a following for their raw and uncompromising blend of pop-roots and psychedelia. The young lads cut their teeth by busking and playing guerilla parties throughout the inner west and now, while maintaining the same DIY ethic that has endeared them to local audiences, they’ve recorded their debut album Caress Your Soul, which they’ll be promoting on this current tour.

Fri, Mar 22nd, Manning Bar

The Mark Of Cain: The Mark of Cain are not just heavy rock royalty here in Australia; they seriously rock the world. After a decade long hiatus the power trio released a new album – Songs of The Third and Fifth – a slab so heavy with metal riffage that it was considered one of 2012’s best records. The group are embarking on a national tour to promote the album and it’ll be a wonderful occasion to catch up with a band that wrote a whole chapter on heavy rock by themselves. A welcome return.

Sat, Mar 23rd, Metro Theatre

The Tiger and Me: The band’s in town to promote their second full length album The Drifter’s Dawn and although they’re billed as a folk-pop sextet they’re honestly so much more. Their sound incorporates heavy elements of blues, cabaret, rock and sweet balladry, and with three lead vocalists and a host of brown sounding acoustic instruments, they’re raw, seductive and will have you swooning by the end of the show which by all reports; is one intense affair.

Tue, Mar 26th, The Vanguard

Ray Beadle & Matt Anderson: One of Australia’s premier blues guitarists teams up with one of Canada’s. This is gonna be an exciting night of story telling and blues guitar wizardry from both the electric and acoustic guitar realms. Anderson is one of the sweetest and most honest storytellers around and he’ll caress your inner spirit with his evocative style before Ray Beadle burns the house down with his scintillating lead licks and soul/rhythm and blues vocal style.

Wed, Mar 27th, The Basement
