Thursday 20th NZ four piece Sola Rosa are visiting Sydney again after successfully touring earlier this year to promote their album Moves On. They’ll be rocking the Beach Rd Hotel with their brand of hip-hop, dub and reggae.

Friday 21st Local experimental groove ensemble Entropic will be playing at 505. They’ve been playing drum n bass and breaks inspired tunes live without the assistance of samplers or sequencers for years and they never fail to get a dance floor pumping. They’re supported by Meem.

Melbourne alt-acoustic group Skipping Girl Vinegar are playing at the Vanguard. Much acclaim has surrounded these guys the last few years and it’s easy to see why as they write beautiful and uplifting indie numbers.

At the Whitehouse Hotel, Big Village Records presents the launch of Sydney local Ellesquire’s debut album Ready. This massive night of great Australian hip-hop will feature support from Reverse Polarities, Money Kat & Ishu (Melb) and more.

Latin roots-rock collective Watussi will be launching their new album El Olvido over two nights at the Basement. This is no doubt going to be a huge as anyone who has already seen their electric live shows will attest. They’ll be supported on Friday by Cumbiamuffin and Samba Frog, while the Saturday show will have a more African flavour as they’re supported by The Liberators and Afro Nomad.

Also on Saturday 22nd Fbi Social hosts Inland Sea. The Brisbane ten piece’s music is characterised by uplifting pop melodies and sophisticated vocal harmonies. They’re joined by Brian Campeau and Elana Stone’s new joint project Rescue Ships. These guys have been killing it on the local scene for a while now and it’s a match made in heaven now that these guys have combined their amazing singer-songwriter skills.

Kiwi dub stalwarts Salmonella Dub will be playing the Metro Theatre. Expect there to be tripped out guitars, dubbed out drums and very heavy bass with soulful vocal melodies and emceeing spliced in.

At the Opera House you can catch grunge legend Chris Cornell play a solo acoustic show. He’ll be playing a bunch of his solo stuff but no doubt there will be a few Soundgarden songs thrown in there for good measure.

On Sunday 23rd you can catch a band of seasoned musicians at the Vanguard when Steve Lane & The Autocrats play their brand of heartfelt indie pop-rock. The band consists of members from Augie March, Paul Kelly & The Dots and The Shedshakers. They’ll be showcasing numbers off their debut album The Romance of Communications.
