On Thursday 13th you can get a double barrel of Tex Perkins when he brings his two bands –The Dark Horses and The Band Of Gold – to The Factory Theatre to launch two brand new albums. No supports for this one just two doses of Tex!

Melbournian four piece Electric Empire are playing a mix of the old and new at the Beresford. They play a splendid style of 70s era soul and R&B with lush soulful harmonies and smooth grooves.

At the Vanguard alt-country/blues singer-song writer Boy Outside launches his debut EP Hush Of The City. For the first time he’ll be playing with a full band which consists of members from The Honey Riders, The Sins and Fergus Brown’s band.

Plenty of options to satiate your live appetite on Friday 14th. You can catch two of Australia’s top blues musicians at The Vanguard. Darren Jack is promoting his new album Better Place and with Ray Beadle you can witness two genuine greats of the scene. This is gonna be one hell of a rocking show.

Local seven piece collective The Wrecking Room are giving away free copies of their debut EP at their launch at The Lair @ The Metro Theatre. Their brand of folk is pretty and ethereal so you can spend the night floating in another world. They’re supported by Liza Rose and Hey Big Aki.

Jazz singer Briana Cowlishaw is playing with a seasoned backing band at 505. The launch for her album in May sold out on the back of rave reviews. Her songs are both energetic and elegant and it’ll be a special night.

At the Gaelic Club King B-Fine will be launching his album Royal Movement which is jam packed with reggae and dancehall riddims. He’s pretty notorious for his excellent live shows so expect a lot of booty shaking. He’ll be supported by Blacka/Mystic, Admiral Kilosh and more.

On Saturday 15th legendary New York protopunk rockers New York Dolls are coming to Sydney. This lot paved the way for iconic groups such as the Ramones, Blondie and Television and you get the privilege of seeing them scream and thrash away at their old classics at the Manning Bar.

You can also catch a genuine super group as The Chicago Soul Collective play at The Basement. The accumulated experience of its members has seen them play alongside the likes of Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Temptations, Dr John and so many others!

At the Oxford Arts Factory Melbourne hip hopper Phrase is playing the Sydney leg of his national tour in support of his new album Babylon. Phrase always performs with a rocking live band and his live shows really are something to be witnessed.

Alternatively, indie psych-popper Amaya Laucirica (Melb) plays Fbi Social. She’s supported the likes of ex Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan and Magic Dirt with her mesmerising melancholy sounds. She’s supported by locals Melodie Nelson and The Singing Skies.
