MARC DESTRUBE

MARC DESTRUBE

When you have a 16-year-old fan on Facebook gushing you’re a, “friggin beast,” and the Artisitic Director Paul Dyer of the Brandenburg Orchestra claiming you’re, “one of the very few musicians to who I entrust the Brandenburg,” you can be pretty sure you are one violinist of virtuosic – and far-reaching – talent. Canadian musician Marc Destrube is also one of the few in the world the Smithsonian Institute trusts to play one of their Stradivarius collection – so you can rest assured that the much-loved Mozart Tempest is in capable hands. Playing on period instruments and led through the Baroque Triple Bill by long-time collaborator Dyer, Destrube will also be joined by guest fortepianist Kristian Bezuidenhout. This promises to be an electrifying performance equal parts technical dexterity and raw power. Beastly. (AB)
