Letter to the editor: Labor the ‘devil’

The message from the ALP this election is “Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t”.

Sure, the Coalition hasn’t detailed any of its policies. But we know it will simply build on Labor’s program: more privatisations; less democratic rights; public services and jobs slashed and more carbon pollution.

We shouldn’t have to put up with either of the “devils” in the first place.

Progressive alternatives to the two major parties do exist. We’ll need them – and community campaigners – more than ever if, as the polls suggest, the Coalition gets in on the back of Labor’s failures.
