Art school opens up
Leichhardt’s Art Est. Art School will hold an Open Day on Saturday, January 30, between 10am and 2pm. The establishment is the two-year-old brainchild of Jennifer McNamara, who embarked on the business after contracting breast cancer five years ago. “I didn’t want to go back to the corporate world,” she said. “Having cancer helps you reassess and reveals what’s important. I thought, I love art so much that it was just something to do.”
As well as finding out about the courses offered by Art Est., visitors can observe artists’ demonstrations throughout the day; kid’s art workshops will also form part of the activities. Entry is free.
