The warmer weather has driven me further afield, and after enjoying a day at Manly beach, I was delighted to avoid the usual food traps in favour of this funky tapas hideaway! I took the edge of the heat with a Cuatro ($14) of vanilla vodka and strawberries, before moving on to a refreshing jug of White Sangria ($27). If you’re after wine, there’s a good selection from France, Argentina, Chile, Spain, New Zealand and Australia, all under the fifty dollar mark. Strong tattooed arms and a great smile make the bar an inviting place for a solo diner. Be warned though, it can lead to order envy. The Spanish Tortilla ($8.50) is definitely on my list for next time, the smell of caramelised onion, Manchego cheese, potato and egg sizzling in a small cast iron pan a meter away had me salivating.  Luckily I was delighted with my trio of Seared Scallops and Mocilla and White Bean Puree ($14) and even happier with the unique plate of Rabbit Rillettes with Rosemary, Almond and Truffle Honey Mojo ($15). End with the perfectly dreamy, oh-so-creamy Crema Catalana ($13), dressed up with a citrus twist and a scoop of house-made orange and Campari sorbet for a welcome contrast.
