CORALINE AND THE SECRET DOOR 3D

CORALINE AND THE SECRET DOOR 3D

Bored by her uneventful life and preoccupied parents, Coraline decides to explore the flat that her family have recently moved into. She quickly discovers a secret door which, at night time, leads to an alternate world. Inhabited by the ‘other’ versions of her family and the other characters around her, this world initially seems perfect, but quickly unravels into nightmare realm.
Based on the horror fantasy book by Neil Gaiman, this story works perfectly with the stop-motion animation of Henry Selick, creator of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Selick’s previously rich, textured visuals thrive in this new 3D format. Every second of this film is fascinating, and the depth of the design means that you literally sink right into this world. As a result, the action is extremely compelling. Coraline achieves what the other films in this latest wave of 3D only attempt to: creating a uniquely visceral experience. (Trischelle Roberts)
