This animated mashup of Shrek and Frankenstein is a fun fable about hope and the power of self-belief. In the land of Malaria, the King holds an annual Evil Science Fair to blackmail the rest of the world into giving him money. Evil Scientists are national heroes, but the real work is done by their assistant ‘Igors’, who are born with humps and congenital speech impediments. Igor (John Cusack) is bonded to Dr Glickentstein (John Cleese), a bumbling scientist whose experiments always fail. But unlike the others, Igor dreams of becoming an great evil scientist’if only he believed in himself. Helped by his friends Brain (a brain in a jar) and Scamper (an invincible rabbit with a death wish), Igor builds a monster, but Eva is more than he bargained for’ Quite good fun. (Lachlan Jobbins)
