FESTIVAL: PEATS RIDGE SUSTAINABLE ARTS & MUSIC

FESTIVAL: PEATS RIDGE SUSTAINABLE ARTS & MUSIC

Along with promoting sustainability, Peats Ridge Sustainable Arts & Music Festival provides three days of non-stop music and performance in the Glenworth Valley, situated one hour north of Sydney.

Committed to offering well-known and upcoming artists, this year’s line-up is diverse and exceptional. Festival goers will be able to relax or dance by the river as they listen to the haunting guitar rhythms of ARIA award winner, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu; the rock beats of The Jezabels and the funky hip-hop of The Winnie Coopers. International artists include Jon Cleary, Frightened Rabbit and Salmonella Dub.

This year there are two new venues dedicated to theatre and cabaret acts. There will also be roving performers, markets, food stalls and discussions about sustainability. The festival is the first major event in Australia to run completely on renewable energy and Festival Director Matt Grant says this environmental focus is weaved through every element of the weekend.

“From composing toilets, to grey water systems, biodiesel generators and a whole area dedicated to education around sustainability, it’s an integral part of the festival without having it shoved down your throat.”

29 December – 1 January. For tickets visit www.peatsridgefestival.com.au or www.moshtix.com.au
