Sydney artist to run Paris Marathon

By Wendy Parkin

Paris is renowned for matters of the heart so it’s no surprise the Heart Foundation is inviting people to run the Marathon de Paris as part of its team in April 2009.

This will be the first Heart Foundation team to run the Paris Marathon. The 42.195 kms course will see a stream of international runners pass the scenic Champs Elysees, Bastille, Nation, Vincennes, les Tuileries and Foch Avenue.

Waverley artist Ingrid Grace will be part of the Heart Foundation team.
Ms Grace is exhibiting 20 of her artworks at Waverley Library in Bondi Junction from July 21 to 10 August 10. Room for Life is a combination of acrylic paint, Chinese ink and conte crayon works. An auction of her work will be held at Waverley Library on August 7 to raise funds for the Heart Foundation.

‘I chose life drawings for this series because I think they promote the idea of living well, enjoying life, being in a healthy body and feeling alive,’ said Ms Grace.

By taking on the Marathon de Paris Ingrid is combining two of her great passions, art and running.

To support Ingrid’s Paris Marathon donations can be made at www.everydayhero.com.au/and search Ingrid Grace.

The Heart Foundation still has places for the Marathon de Paris; entry to the race is guaranteed in return for fund raising. Contact Ross Dixon on 02 9219 2427.
